Original Page from The Creeps: The Trolls Will Feast!

I’ve decided to make the original art from the 2nd and 3rd CREEPS books (I did the first digitally) available for really cheap. The original art listed here is for the Eisner Award-nominated CREEPS VOLUME 2: THE TROLLS WILL FEAST.

*pages 1-6 have mostly empty balloons, no text inside the balloons except when characters are yelling.

When I was a kid, we had an original Walt Kelly POGO daily on our wall (long story), and I grew up looking at it, analyzing it, thinking it was the neatest thing and feeling like I had secret cartoonist knowledge that came from analyzing the original, stuff you just couldn’t know from looking at the printed version in the book. It made a real impression on me and definitely had an impact on the way that I went about making comics as an adult.

Now, I’m no Walt Kelly, but I’m darn lucky in that, like him, I get to make comics. And if there’s any chance that some kid having an original on the wall gets 1/10th the impact that having one gave me, well, I want to make that a possibility. To that end, I’m finally putting original art from THE CREEPS books (2 and 3; I did 1 digitally) up for sale and cheap enough that one can get a page as a gift for their kid or niece or nephew or neighbor or student or whoever without exceeding their gifting budget.

The pages are $25 each or 4 for $80, free shipping within the US. I’m happy to personalize the page to the recipients, should you wish, and if ordered before the 10th should have them to you well in time for Christmas.

For the price, it’s not feasible for me to scan the pages individually, so you’ll have to look at a book to choose the corresponding page(s). You can probably find copies at your local bookstore, or your local library, or you can order online.
